One Down: Flip Pidot Does Not Want Michael Bloomberg on the G.O.P. Ballot

It looks like the fifth and deciding vote to determine whether Michael Bloomberg will be allowed to run for re-election on the Republican line will be cast by the Manhattan county chairwoman, Jennifer Saul, who has said she will defer to the wishes of her county committee members.
That means that the fate of Bloomberg ballot position will be sealed by Manhattan’s 50 Republicans district leaders, who, in a borough full of Democrats, have a particularly low-profile and thankless job.
(As more than one member told me, trying to collect Republican signatures in Manhattan has exposed them to abuse–even spitting!–from the public.
