A press release about it was sent out a few minutes ago, although people following him on Twitter got a heads up about the site 16 hours ago. (Yes, I know I’m going a little overboard with the Twitter.)

The conventional wisdom is that he could run for Andrew Cuomo’s seat as attorney general, when Cuomo leaves it to run for governor.

If David Paterson runs for governor, there's also the lieutenant governor option for Suozzi. The position is vacant. He’s expressed interest in it before. And with Representative Peter King of Long Island, a Republican, looking to run for Senate, the Republican turnout on Long Island could be higher than usual. So, an appealing Democrat from King’s backyard could help offset that turnout.

Then again, being Paterson’s running-mate could make things even more awkward with Cuomo. So there's that.
