In this clip, Sears, who voted to extend term limits, talks about why change could be bad.

“People don’t like to see changes. This is a time when experience carries us through. When I came into the Council, I didn’t come in as a new kid. I’ve been in this community for 35 years,” she said.

Sears refers to a business improvement district on 84th [corrected] Street that “was nothing. I made it happen.”

It's a theme that runs against the message from her party's leading mayoral contender and, of course, the one from the new president.
