The Lenox Hill Democratic Club on Manhattan’s East Side voted last night to endorse city candidates.
The club’s president, Caroline Mello, said the club endorsed Bill Thompson for mayor, Leslie Crocker Snyder for Manhattan district attorney, Bill de Blasio for public advocate and David Yassky for comptroller.
Here are the vote totals: Snyder got 18 votes, Richard Aborn 10, and Cy Vance 2.
De Blasio got 21, and Eric Gioia and Mark Green got 5 each (sort of a blow to Green, who pitched himself as a local guy to the club).
Yassky got 18 votes, John Liu 14, and Melinda Katz 1.
“After hearing from each of the candidates and debating as a club we decided that these candidates best represented the progressive Democratic ideals that the Lenox Hill Democratic Club stands for,” Mello said.
