Bill Thompson made an uncharacteristically aggressive move this morning when he said he was holding a rally to protest cuts to M.T.A. service agents inside the 77th Street train station “because this is Bloomberg’s home station.”

“He and his M.T.A. board representatives must speak up and make it clear to the M.T.A. that it must not jeopardize riders’ safety in New York City,” Thompson said, according to this video.

The 77th Street train station is the one closest to Bloomberg’s townhouse, but, as The New York Times once discovered, he sometimes gets driven to another station in order to hop on an express train.
