ALBANY—Two nominees to the Public Service Commission cleared the State Senate Energy Committee today, a few days after Senator Kevin Parker was removed as the committee chair after he was charged with a felony.
"We had hoped that the new chair would postpone this vote in light of the recent leadership change on the committee," wrote Chris Keeley of Common Cause, who has been making a lot of noise about appointments to the P.S.C. for a few months.
The nominations of Patricia Acampora and Garry Brown, were approved unanimously. The committee is now headed by Darrel Aubertine, who took over as acting chair Monday.
"It was really pretty seamless," Aubertine told me. "Obviously it's critically important to have the right people on the job at the Public Service Commission."
