Weprin Wishes the Water Board Looked for Savings Every Day

Here’s City Councilman and comptroller candidate David Weprin, saying the city Water Board could have staved off its entire 12.9 percent rate increase if they had simply looked to save money throughout the entire year, rather than in just the last few months. “They actually found savings of about $46 million and they found those savings over the course of the last couple of months,” Weprin said. “Can you imagine if they had tried to find savings over the course of a year? Then, there wouldn’t be a need for any increase.”
