With apologies, no better way to say it: ELEC sucks

The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) announced today that the 11-day pre-election reports filed by gubernatorial, legislative, and local 2009 Primary Election candidates and committees will be released at 10AM on Thursday – a little less than five days before the polls open.

The 11-day reports were due last Friday, but ELEC was closed as part of their participation in the state's public employee furlough program. As a result, campaigns could not make strategic decisions based on knowing the cash-on-hand of their opponent.
