City Councilman David Yassky, who is running for comptroller, just launched a searchable database of how City Council members are spending discretionary funds.
It’s part of his new effort to get information about the city budget online, including how each agency is spending money.
The site is called ItsyourmoneyNYC.com
The “earmark” database is searchable by members, by borough, and by group. Plus, you can leave comments under each earmark.
(Should be interesting to see what people say.)
I’m poking around the site now, and one thing caught my eye: $278,529 went to the senior center run by Brooklyn Democratic County Leader Vito Lopez, from “undesignated” sponsors.
Let me know what you find.
