At Auction Next Week: Girls Like Us Author’s Book on Couric, Sawyer, Amanour

William Morris Endeavor literary agent Suzanne Gluck has a proposal out for a book by Glamour contributing editor Sheila Weller about Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Christiane Amanpour. The working title of the book, according to someone who saw the proposal, is The New Sorority, and like Ms. Weller’s previous books, it will be based on original reporting.

Ms. Weller’s most recent book—she has written a total of six, including one about the marriage of O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown—was the three-way biography Girls Like Us: Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and the Journey of a Generation, which came out in April of last year and was described in The New York Times as an exploration of “how these three distinct yet dovetailing artists bucked the expectations that had been laid out for them by previous generations and blazed a new path for women to follow.”

It seems likely that this new book will take a similar form, except it’ll be about the TV news business instead of music. Ms. Gluck did not return calls seeking comment. We’re told the book is set to go to auction next week.
