Bloomberg Gets The Carpenters

The New York City District Council of Carpenters has endorsed Michael Bloomberg.

Last week, the union endorsed Democratic candidates for city comptroller and public advocate, but members spoke highly of Bloomberg, who they endorsed in 2005, too.

“Mayor Bloomberg has the skill and experience to lead New York City through difficult times,” Michael Forde, the union’s executive secretary treasurer, said in a public statement. “Over the last four years, Mayor Bloomberg has been a fighter in our corner.”

The endorsement was announced via email, which, like all endorsement announcements, included a list of supporters. One I only noticed today: “The New York Page” which is actually too obscure for my research.

And in case you’re counting, it’s been 21 days since Bloomberg held a campaign event where he’s taken questions from reporters.
