Here’s Michael Bloomberg at a campaign event this morning, responding to a reporter’s question about criticism of the president’s date-night in New York, which some Republicans tried to suggest was an insensitive display as many Americans are suffering economically. The “criticism is so off base,” said Bloomberg, he “wouldn’t take it seriously.” “I can’t think of anything that is a better as an advertisement for our tourism industry, for Broadway, for our restaurants, for saying this is a safe city, and an affordable city. The president doesn’t get paid that much. He’s on a budget too,” Bloomberg said.
