"With autism affecting more American children than pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined and with insurance companies not covering necessary autism treatment, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will announce her three-point plan to help improve the lives of children and families living with autism," reads the release.

Gillbrand will promote the measure on a conference call—during which there is a high possibility that she will utter the word "mom"— later this afternoon.
