Carolyn McCarthy, the Democratic congresswoman from Long Island, appears in this ad the Bloomberg campaign just released.
In the video, she talks about his work on gun control issues, saying it “saves lives.” She doesn’t make any direct appeal for votes, or reference the fact that he’s seeking reelection.
When McCarthy’s endorsement was announced earlier, the fact that she was crossing party lines was kind of a big deal. In the ad, it’s barely mentioned. Neither is the fact Bloomberg is running on the Republican and Independence Party lines.
