If you’re like us, NY1 is on the TV every morning, and if it is, you’ve noticed a commercial for the NY1 Music Video Star Contest. The network is encouraging viewers to make a music video with a song to the rhythm of the theme song that plays at the top and bottom of every hour.

So, we just stumbled upon by far the best one. It’s created by one Soraya Sobreidad, and it really must be seen to be believed. Here’s part of her opening statement: “Hi, my name is Soraya Sobreidad and I love New York News 1. I’ve been on plenty of hot dates, but when it’s 7:00, honey? I can’t wait, I have to get out, honey, and go watch Inside City Hall. So this video and my little submission is dedicated to the hunk Dominic Carter. Inside City Hall, I don’t miss it! Road to City Hall? I don’t miss it, either.”

According to her MySpace page, Ms. Sobreidad lives in Jackson Heights, and her other songs include “Welcome to Club Fierceness,” “I Feel Fierce,” and “Money in My Darkness.”

In her online biography, she describes herself as “a latina version of Divine, Marilyn Monroe and RuPaul all wrapped up in Puerto Rican pastel!)!!”
