On the Senate Giving the Assembly Bad Name

There’s a slight disagreement between 62 members of the State Senate, creating a stalemate in one house of the legislature. Unfortunately for members of the other house, the public assumes they’re in the same morass.
During a brief phone conversation just now, Assemblyman Michael Benjamin of the Bronx told me, “Some people don’t know the distinction between the Senate and the Assembly and they think we’re all at fault. Little do they know we’re going to be here all night passing bills.”
UPDATE: An Albany insider, just now: “Now, I’m very specific. I don’t work for the governor. I don’t work for the Senate.”
