The Hudson County Board of Elections just reported to the camps of Cammarano and Zimmer that the at-large councilman has gone ahead by 161 votes in the wake of the board's provisional ballot tally.
The absentee results brokes down as follows: Cammrano, 63; Zimmer, 15.
Provisional vote totals showed 82 for Cammarano and 36 for Zimmer.
Hoboken City Clerk James Farina certified the results at 2 p.m., making Cammarano officially the winnner.
No word yet on whether Zimmer intends to challenge the results.
Zimmer's finalTuesday night machine total from all of Hoboken's 36 districts reporting showed her ahead of Cammarano by 265 votes: 5,829 to 5,564. That was prior to the Board of Elections's Office consideration of the bulk of absentee ballots late Tuesday night, which the board reported going in Cammarano's favor and which put him up by 67 votes coming into today's conference atcounty headquarters.
