Senate passes on Blue Cross/Blue Shield nominee

The Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday held the nomination of Daniel Humberto Jara to the Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey Board of Directors because there were not enough votes to get him through committee. The founder of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey faced tough questions from Senators on both sides of the aisle as he seeks to serve on the board of a major health insurer that is seeking to move from non-profit to for-profit. There's a good chance that Jara won't be confirmed anytime soon.
