A source close to Carolyn Maloney confirms a report in The Hill that Vice President Joe Biden spoke to the Upper East Side representative about her potential primary challenge to Kirsten Gillibrand but "he did not ask her not to run."

"She's going to make her decisions on her own timeframe," the source said. "She's not going to bow to political pressure nor to any phone calls from anyone."
