The Bloomberg-Siegel Moment

Last week I wrote about how Michael Bloomberg has been giving economic advice, in a nice way, to public-advocate candidate Norman Siegel. It’s a courtesy the mayor hasn’t extended to any other candidate running for citywide office.

Siegel told me that the mayor began sending him reading material about the economy after they had a friendly conversation during a parade in Queens earlier in the year. An organizer of the parade, Brendan Fay, sent along this photo showing where it all started.
