Zirinsky and Couric Team Up on Prime-Time Michael Jackson Special for CBS

The professional partnership between Susan Zirinsky and Katie Couric keeps chugging along at CBS.

Not long ago, we wrote about how Ms. Zirinsky (the executive producer of 48 Hours Mystery) and Ms. Couric (the anchor of the Evening News) were increasingly teaming up on prime-time adventures, ranging from inauguration coverage to Grammy Awards specials.

Tonight, the duo will dip into prime time once again with “Michael Jackson: Picking Up the Pieces.”

The hour-long special, airing at 10 p.m. on CBS and anchored by Ms. Couric, will take a look into the mystery surrounding Mr. Jackson’s death.

“With the probe under way, many are awaiting answers as to just what happened when Jackson collapsed, amid speculation about his use of prescription pain killers,” reads CBS’s press release. “The broadcast will take a look at Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician who reportedly found Jackson not breathing, shortly before the singer’s death.”
