Bloomberg Gets United Workers

In addition to offering a rebuttal to Bill Thompson’s audit today, Michael Bloomberg’s campaign announced they got the endorsement of Workers United, a private-sector union representing about 50,000 apparel, textile, and retail workers in New York.
A campaign spokeswoman noted it’s their 11th union endorsement of the race which, combined, accounts for 370,000 workers.
In his comments, Edgar Romney, Secretary Treasure of Workers United, also defended Bloomberg from the criticism that he’s out of touch with regular New Yorkers, which his Democratic opponent, Bill Thompson, has tried advancing.
“In a city best known as a home for celebrities and high flying bankers and stockbrokers, Mayor Bloomberg knows that he is the mayor for all of New York,” Romney said in a public statement.
