Former Senator applauds Christie process and selection

Former State Sen. Leanna Brown (R-Chatham), who was the only Republican woman in the Senate during her nearly ten years on office, praised Christie for the way he conducting his search for a running mate, saying he approached it with "the dignity and seriousness the job deserves."

"I am delighted with the selection by Chris Christie for the LG spot," said Brown, who was a Senator from 1984 to 1993. "Although I do not know her personally, I am most impressed with her credentials and the good things I hear about her from mutual friends.

Brown also said she is distressed by Gov. Jon Corzine's TV commercial about one million lawyers.

"Have your noticed that they are all white males?" she aked.
