Gov. Jon Corzine's campaign has launched a new TV ad using footage of Republican Christopher Christie's testimony before a House Judiciary subcommittee last month. The ad continues Corzine's attack on Christie for giving federal monitor contracts to lawyers that had personal connections to him while serving as the U.S. Attorney. The ad will run on broadcast and cable TV over the next few weeks.
The ad claims that Christie "abruptly left when given the opportunity to explain" the contracts, although Christie did testify for more than ninety minutes and had previously notified the committee chairman that he needed to make a 2PM train back to New Jersey.
