Poll: Christie leads 53%-38%

A new poll released by Strategic Vision shows Republican Christopher Christie with a 15-point lead, 53%-38%, over Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine. Independent Christopher Daggett is at 5%.

Strategic Vision is a Republican polling firm.

Corzine has an upside-down approval rating of 35%-55%. President Obama has a 50%-40% approval rating in New Jersey.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll has Christie leading Corzine by 12 points, 53%-41%, and a Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey shows Christie ahead by eight points.

Christie campaign manager Bill Stepien says that Corzine's campaign ads aren't working.

"Jon Corzine doesn't seem to get that New Jerseyans find inaccurate and misleading campaign ads insulting when they are struggling each and every day just to make ends meet," Stepien said. "At a time when the unemployment rate is 9.2%, 200,000 New Jerseyans have lost their jobs in the last year and Corzine has eliminated property tax relief for 1.2 million residents, the best he can do is throw his Wall Street money behind negative attacks.

"Jon Corzine hasn't run a positive ad since the primary and he only has tolook at his poll numbers to see that New Jerseyans expect solutions fromtheir governor, not millions in attack ads that stretch the limits ofbelievability," said Stepien. Poll: Christie leads 53%-38%
