A Democratic poll released today puts Republican gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie ahead of Governor Corzine by two points in a three way match-up that includes independent Christopher Daggett.
The poll of 608 likely voters for Democracy Corps shows by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, a Democratic firm, puts Christie at 43% to Corzine’s 41% and Daggett’s 7%.
In a two way match-up, Christie’s lead only grows by one point, at 46% to Corzine’s 43%.
The difference in support between the two leading candidates is well within the poll’s plus or minus 4% margin of error. It was conducted between on August 25 and 26.
A Rasmussen Reports poll released earlier today tells a different story, showing Christie leading Corzine by 11 points in a two way match-up. It did not include Daggett.
Democracy Corps is run by longtime Democratic strategists James Carville and Stanley Greenberg. The last poll they commissioned, from two weeks ago, showed Corzine trailing Chrsitie by 5% (40% to 35%) with Daggett at 10%.
