Thompson Seeks Paperwork from Bloomberg

City comptroller Bill Thompson, who is challenging Mayor Michael Bloomberg this fall, just sent him a letter criticizing him over his reported use of discretionary funds.

Thompson is seizing on a quote from the Times story about the use of those funds where a Bloomberg spokesman said “a formal audit” was conducted.

“Despite my office’s critical role in registering all contracts and agreements, that audit has, to my knowledge, never been shared with my office,” Thompson writes in the letter.

Thompson goes on to “request that a copy of the aforementioned audit, together with all work papers and other backup documentation be immediately provided to my office.” Thompson Seeks Paperwork from Bloomberg
