Minutes after Melinda Katz emailed reporters with copies of her two television ads, David Yassky’s campaign released their first ad.
“I’m David Yassky. You don’t know me, but I’m going to save you money,” is his first line.
It skips the bio/family background, which is the subject of one of Katz’s ad (and a five-minute video Liu released online).
Yassky’s video does talk about his background suing Exxon Mobil, closing tax loopholes, putting the city budget online, and, notably, mentions that he worked with Senator Chuck Schumer.
I emailed consultant Hank Sheinkopf to ask when his candidate, David Weprin, planned to go up with TV ads. Sheinkopf’s answer: “Does Macy’s tell Gimbel’s?”
UPDATE: Another person on Weprin’s campaign said their first TV ad is going up on Wednesday.
