1. We’re guessing Carey Mulligan will soon be a household name. The 24-year-old actress gives a star-making performance in An Education (in theaters 10/16), the top VSL Current Cinema pick for this month. Mulligan plays a 16-year-old in 1960s England who meets and is seduced by an older, too-smooth man (Peter Sarsgaard) in this wonderfully poignant coming-of-age film.
