How about that headline on the Times’ Bill Thompson profile this morning: “A Quiet Leader Wages a Bold Campaign“?
“Bold” is not a word that has been used much for Thompson’s campaign, which on Tuesday failed to see as many people vote for mayor as they did for comptroller and public advocate. (For comparison’s sake, their July headline: “Thompson, the Stealth Candidate.”)
Apparently, the Times meant that running against a billionaire mayor is, in itself, a bold decision for a quiet man. Fair enough.
