Billionaire Finn M.W. Caspersen, a major Republican fundraiser over the last three decades, died Monday evening at his summer home in Rhode Island. He was 67. The cause of death was not announced by local officials.
He had been the head of Beneficial Corp., a New Jersey-based financial firm. His son, Finn M.W. Caspersen, Jr., is a Bedminster Township Committeeman.
Caspersen was a close political ally of Thomas Kean, Sr., who won races for governor in 1981 and 1985 with Caspersen's help.
