Hoffman Gets Extension on Ethics Filing

Doug Hoffman has asked for an extension to file the required disclosure document in his campaign to replace John McHugh

Doug Hoffman has asked for an extension to file the required disclosure document in his campaign to replace John McHugh in Congress.

"There were concerns dealing with Doug's ethical responsibilities to his clients and as they related to requirement in the FEC filings," said Rob Ryan, Hoffman's spokesman. "The campaign filed for an extension and the completed form will be filed shortly."

The form shows income and investment holdings, and is required for any candidate for federal office within 30 days of them forming a campaign committee. For Hoffman, the Conservative Party designee for the seat, that was Friday.

I couldn't reach FEC officials on the holiday to verify this.

The disclosure form for Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, the Republican candidate, was filed two weeks ago and showed several investments. Bill Owens, the designee of the Democratic Party, has not yet filed a form.
