Guys in Giants jerseys and Jets t-shirts rejoiced here late Wednesday afternoon, and it didn’t have much to do with tennis. Chris Russo was back at the Open, hosting his Sirius radio show from the east side of Arthur Ashe. One fan we saw mouthed the words “The Mad Dog is back.”
Ever since Chris Russo left WFAN last year for satellite radio, the Mad Dog has had a considerably smaller presence in this city (after all, who’s going to buy the Mad Dog channel). When the McEnroes came on as guests, more than 100 people lined up to watch. Nice work, Dog. Nice job.
