Rafa Nadal’s Bad Luck

Poor Rafa.

It took the USTA two rain delays and five hours of hand-wringing to call off his match last night. His tummy was bothering him too!

And bad luck seems to follow him everywhere around these parts. Last year, he played Andy Murray in the semifinals, and, after being forced to play on Armstrong because of an impending storm, the match was suspended anyway and had to be continued the next day (he eventually lost). In 2007, his fourth-round match against David Ferrer ended at 1:50 a.m., the latest we’ve seen a match end in the three years we’ve been covering this event. He lost that one too).
