The U.S. Open usually teems with celebrities, but their presence over the course of the first week of play at Arthur Ashe Stadium this year was somewhat underwhelming Vogue editor Anna Wintour was there, but she’s always there when Roger Federer plays.
Movie star Nicole Kidman showed up.
Model Christie Brinkley was there for opening night. And Mayor Michael Bloomberg, of course, and actor Jeremy Piven and rapper Common, for Serena Williams’s matches.
Then there were people like…golf’s Nick Faldo and former senator Al D’Amato and musician Rob Thomas.
Expect more big-name attendees (Bill Clinton!) for the later-round matches. Maybe!
