John Freeman has been named the actual, official editor of Granta. Prior to this he was Acting Editor. The literary magazine said today that they were “delighted to announce his confirmation.”
Freeman, whom Leon Neyfakh profiled this summer, was known as a prolific reviewer and president of the National Book Critics Circle before going to Granta.
Granta is known as a handsome quarterly (they published the short memoir that was the original source for An Education) that throws plenty of parties.
