Several current and former members of the New York Giants are expected to attend a fundraiser Monday night for Passaic County Freeholder Director Tahesha Way. She is the wife of former Giants fullback Charles Way, who is now the team's director of player development. Way is viewed as a rising star in state Democratic politics and received some consideration as a possible candidate for Lt. Governor last summer.
Gov. Jon Corzine, who said in a debate Friday night that he would prefer that the team be called the New Jersey Giants, will attend the fundraiser, Way says. Don't expect him to lobby any of the Giants personnel on a team name change.
