The Star-Ledger, New Jersey's largest newspaper, is more popular among likely voters in New Jersey than any local politician, and nearly as well-liked as President Barack Obama. A new Rasmussen Reports poll shows the Star-Ledger has statewide favorables of 55%-24%. Obama's favorables in New Jersey are at 57%.
Just 32% of voters know that the Star-Ledger has endorsed independent Christopher Daggett for Governor. Some (18%) think they endorsed Gov. Jon Corzine, and others (8%) believe they are backing Christopher Christie. More than two out of five voters (42%) aren't sure who the Star-Ledger wants to be Governor.
Of those who like the newspaper, 16% are very favorable and 39% are somewhat favorable. 13% are somewhat unfavorable and 11% are very unfavorable. 21% are not sure.
