It appears yesterday’s prepared remarks by Senate Majority Leader John Sampson were too hot for The New York Times.
In announcing the formation of a Senate committee to consider the case of Senator Hiram Monserrate, Mr. Sampson gift-wrapped one for the press. “As a father with daughters, I am not only angry, I’m pissed off,” he said.
But apparently being “pissed off” is verboten at The Times, which opted to paraphrase:
“As a father with daughters,” he added, he was extremely angry.
