“Why don’t we focus on this year’s elections this year and then we’ll talk about next year’s elections next year. I’m a here-and-now kind of guy,” Attorney General Andrew Cuomo told Newsday last night at a fund-raiser for Nassau County Attorney General Kathleen Rice.
There is speculation that Ms. Rice might like to run for the state A.G. seat, depending on the future of the “here-and-now” incumbent.
As the Daily News points out, the waters are muddied if Mr. Cuomo decides not to run. Sean Coffey–who declared for the seat last week but said he wouldn’t run against Mr. Cuomo–was listed on the fund-raiser invitation as having committed to raise $10,000 for Ms. Rice.
