AOL Shucks ’90s Image in Favor of Goldfish

In the interest of sprucing up its brand identity, AOL has commissioned a collection of new logos, many of which look like undergrad graphic design projects. They include a goldfish, a “RAWK” hand gesture, and a cloud of pink smoke, all with “Aol.” superimposed.

One opinion: old-school AOL can’t have been more than a year away from becoming the object of nineties nostalgia. The bleep-bleep-bloop of AOL dial-up is the soundtrack of middle school crushes; license that little running man for Urban Outfitters T-shirts and he’ll pair well with floral-print rayon and Doc Martens.
