There is some speculation that John Spinello, a former Associate General Counsel to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, could wind up as Commissioner of Environmental Protection in Gov.-elect Christopher Christie's cabinet. Christie recently named him to his DEP transition team. Spinello spent fifteen years in state government, including two years as Associate Counsel to Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, seven years at DEP, and five years as a research associate in the Assembly Democratic Office. The Washington Township (Bergen County) resident is now a partner at K&L Gates, an 1,800-member national law firm.
