Former community affairs commissioner and Cherry Hill mayor Susan Bass Levin will leave her job as deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to lead the fundraising arm of Cooper University Hospital.
Bass Levin, who has been at the Port Authority since Gov. Jon Corzine appointed her in May, 2007 will take over the day-to-day operations of the Cooper Foundation and head its community redevelopment efforts. Her Port Authority salary was $274,330, according to the latest data available online.
Bass Levin served as mayor of Cherry Hill from 1988 to 2002 before being name community affairs commissioner by Gov. Jim McGreevey. She served in that post from 2002 to 2005.
