It’s official.
Michael Bloomberg signed the oath of office administered by the city clerk at a brief ceremony in City Hall just now.
Bloomberg paid the $9 fee in single bills after wondering aloud whether he could afford it. Obviously, a joke.
“I’m honored to be re-elected as mayor,” Bloomberg said. “We’re going to go through some challenging times.”
He said he’ll “do everything I can to get us all together. We are here on God’s planet and we have to help each other.”
Then, he left the room, leaving a bunch of reporters and photographers to gawk at the book he signed and the ancient desk used for the event.
