Mayor Bloomberg thinks that 50-percent European tax on bank bonuses can help New York City—if it doesn’t help the Swiss first.
“We can either use that as a cover and we can pile on or we can use that as an opportunity to have a future and bring those companies here,” the mayor said today.
And, in an impressive use of the correct term for Switzerland’s semi-sovereign states, the jet-setting mayor added: “I can guarantee you that every canton has been on the phone calling every one of those companies and saying ‘You see, you see, move to Switzerland.'”
