Lame duck Passaic County Clerk Karen Brown is reportedly under consideration to become an Assistant County Counsel, a $95,000-a-year job. Brown, who did not seek re-election to a second term this year after a falling out with Democratic County Chairman John Currie, is allied with the Pascrell wing of the local Democratic organization. Bill Pascrell III, a lobbyist and son of the Congressman, is the County Counsel. The appointment is being made (possibly as early as this evening) by the lame duck Passaic County Board of Freeholders, which will go from 7-0 Democratic control to 4-3 Democratic on January 1.
Republican Kristin Corrado was elected County Clerk last month. She takes office on January 1, along with the three new GOP Freeholders.
