Earlier this month, I wrote that John Liu was conduting a thorough review of the comptroller’s office to see who on the current the staff he’d keep and who he’d replace with his own people. One area that will apparently get new blood is the communications office, according to a person currently preparing to depart the comptroller’s staff.
“Unfortunately, they got rid of all of us is the Press Office,” this person told me.
A spokesperson for Liu has said previously that no staffing decisions have been finalized.
UPDATE: A more knowledgable source called to say Liu is keeping two people from the current press office, one spokesman and one speech writer.
