Michael Bloomberg showed some restraint today when asked about Bill de Blasio’s plan to use his office as a hub for community organizing aimed at criticizing the mayor.
Speaking to reporters in Bay Ridge about the city’s tourism, Bloomberg said, “I thought Bill gave a good speech,” referring to the one delivered during their inauguration, “and I look forward to working with him.”
When asked to respond to de Blasio’s comments earlier today, Bloomberg said he didn’t hear them and therefore won’t comment. “You’ll have to ask the public advocate what he wants to do.”
For today, the mayor is resisting direct confrontation.
