In case you didn’t notice: Republican Gov.-elect Christopher Christie did better in congressional districts represented by Democrats John Adler (D-Cherry Hill) and Rush Holt (D-Hopewell) than he did in the second district, represented by Republican Frank LoBiondo (R-Ventnor). Christie beat Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine 50%-46% in LoBiondo’s district; he led Corzine 56%-39% in the Adler district and 52%-42% in the Holt district. Adler is #1 on the New Jersey GOP hit list, and Republicans, very slowly, are starting to look at Holt as beatable if the national political climate remains the same. Democrats don’t think they can’t beat LoBiondo, and won’t really try.
