Andrew Cuomo today requested information about bonuses given out by eight banks that had received taxpayer money as part of the TARP bailout last year.
Among those institutions is Bank of America, which owns Merrill Lynch.
Among Merrill Lynch’s many employees is Harold Ford Jr. It’s unclear if Cuomo’s letter—which doesn’t request bonus information of any particular employee—would impact Ford directly.
A spokesman for Ford did not address if the contract was eligible for bonuses. If Ford runs, the spokesman said he’ll disclose more information about his finances.
[Corrected from an earlier version that said that Ford was eligible for bonuses.]
